Mini Games[]
There are 3 minigames present in the game, each one has 5 different levels with varying difficulty. They can be completed on normal and hard mode.
Helicopter Run[]
As the pilot, you have to bring vital supplies back on the rig. However with each level the difficulty increases. You have to fly over lighthouses, avoid pelicans, not get hit by debris falling from hot air ballons or avoid getting hit by lightning. If you fall into the water or fly against a lighthouse your helicopter explodes and you need to restart from your last checkpoint.
Getting hit by anything else results in your supplies deattaching and falling down to the water. You can fly down and pick them up again to continue, but make sure to keep an eye on your fuel and land at a checkpoint for refuelling. You win the game by landing on the final platform with your supply.
Derrickman[]
As the Derrickman, you are tasked to lengthen the drill pipes by climbing on top of the derrick. While you climb up you have to avoid barrels rolling down the platforms, pelicans flying nearby, unstable plattforms and fire hazards. You also have to make sure to avoid dying while the camera keeps going up, making platforms dissapear the further you go. Utilise the checkpoints, which are indicated as flags, to avoid starting from the bottom.
Once you reach the top, head over to the green lever to insert the next drill pipe, afterwards you win the level.
Seismic Survey[]
Search for new oil deposits with your ship by using a widely used method called "seismic stratigraphy". Which uses seismic waves, via explosions, to listen where new oil deposits might be hidden. To win the game you have to locate all red marked oil targets present in each level, while avoiding aquatic life in later levels.
With each level the currents become stronger, indicated by bubbles inside the water. Those bubbles show what direction these currents go to. Here you have to play close attention to them, to make sure your seismic waves hit the red targets shown on the ocean floor. These waves bounce back to the surface and can be dragged off to another area on your screen. You fail if you do not locate all deposits or catch all your seismic waves.
Sea Fax Teletext[]
Whenever you finish a minigame your drill becomes 300m longer. You can reach depths of 4400m before your screen starts to glitch, revealing a new interface showing a console, monitor and the TTY Output. This interface is run with Cadal's own operating system (Version 3.24), which starts to run the "CADL" executable that starts to install various providers to build a command table. However something on the booting screen fails and you are instructed to enter the command "help" to continue.
Here the software shows the number "0325 77", that you can call for problems occuring in the system. Once you connect to the number, the SeaFax Teletext is opened:
